    Thank you for interesting lessons.
I have a few questions for you.
    1. Why some materials are very high subdivs 500 – 800? On some materials they are small. Which is better to use and why?
    2. Why in the render window, this function-Display colors in sRGB space is enabled?

    • (verified owner):

I’ve recently been studying the DMC sampler and how to better use it, so the high subdivs are a result of that.
If you are interested in the subject, read these sites –

It should give you a good why high material/light subdivs are quicker to render than low subdivs. Basically it’s all about trying to let the AA sampler only work on edges and textures and cleaning up the noise with local subdivs (lights/materials)

Srgb button, it’s just a variation of linear workflow. I’m experimenting with 32 bit output files and it’s better to not burn the gamma in images for 32 bit renders. So you can render a linear image and preview it in the vfb with srgb button. If you want to have an 8 or 16 bit file as output, just set the gamma to 2.2 when saving and the result will be the same as in vfb with srgb on.

You are truly awesome as always. Professionally created every tutorial, there is no website that provide a bunch of training of v-ray in architectural field. Thanks a lot

Many of my projects are interiors and depite , the 3 years I have been doing this kind of work. I am still not 100% happy with the lighting.. I spend more time on lights than I do on modelling…

When I got an email telling me about this latest tutorial and considering it’s nearly Christmas, I decided to give myself an early Christmas present.. and I am pleased to say, it is probably the best purchase I have made this year.

Always a pleasure to watch these tutorials, always very professional but not overly complicated or confusing.

Very well put together as always. I am one very happy customer.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

    Well done Austris, (again !)

For information, you are my preferred online trainer for all things related to 3DS Max and VRay. You simply know what you’re talking about.

I purchased this course of yours without hesitation (a Christmas present to me!) and learnt new techniques within the first 30mins.

Thanks for all your work and contributions to the 3D Community. It is greatly appreciated.

    Kindest regards,

    Hi Austris,
i bought the tutorial asa just as i’ve seen in my newsletter.
Just one question. when i open the file named Evening_Basic and hit render, it’s totally washed out. there are any correction to do?. I use 3ds max 2014 & vray 2.40.04 and adopt file gamma when open.

    • (verified owner):

There are probably some gamma issues somewhere, sounds like your render is corrected 2 times.
Check these settings – vray color mapping mode is set to “color mapping only, no gamma” and srgb button in the vray frame buffer is turned on.
Let me know if that fixes it!

I’ll send you a render so you can help.
    Thanks & ketty christmas.

Good day. Your tutorials are really unique. You could tell the whole world. But I regret one thing. When you issue a new tutorial, in a few hours or days is available on warez forums. Is it possible to somehow fight against such things as a small publisher? You reportable links to warez repository. But what torrents shared within warez forum?

However, I want to thank you for your work. I have a few of your tutorials and I appreciate all of them most of all.

      Hi Paja,

Just wanted to say thank you for your concern and support!

Unfortunately there’s not much I can do about piracy. It’s possible to send legal takedown notices to all file storage sites and video sharing sites like youtube, but torrents are unstoppable.
If hollywood with it’s billions of dollars can’t stop it, there nothing a small guy like me can do.
I’m just very thankful to those honest people who actually prefer to buy instead of stealing :) If everybody downloaded, it wouldn’t be worth spending all this time and effort on new tuts.

Good evening Austris! I work for 3s max 11 + V-ray Adv 1.50.SP5. When I open files lesson, render settings change, so the render turns incorrect. I do not understand what to do. Perhaps you would be so kind and send PrtScn of settings so I can get correct rendering? Very grateful for your lessons.

    Hi Austris,
It is simple: I never bought such a clear tutorial, it is a real pleasure to learn from you, really. No unecessary talk, only what you really need to know to do the job :)
Wonderful tutorial that I needed so much because I am quite new to interior viz as I much practice exterior ones. Every topic is covered, ranging from light settings for every situation, through GI optimization which is absolutely amazing. My own tests with your technic revealed that it is possible to decrease render time 20x with irr map + Light cache compared to Brute force, with quasi the same amount of quality in GI: you are a genius !
Keep it up, I will never let you down for sure :)

Thank you so much for the new pricing, 59eruos was a bit much for me, 36euros translates roughly to $50 US and I feel that is fair. I hope you see more sales volume/profit this way! My opinion, raise the minimum cost.
